Doing discovery before going hard with graphcool. How to handle the use case of wanting to report to the user on the client that there is an error with an email field used in a mutation? Say, it might not be a valid email. Or, it might not be unique in the DB.

It looks like there is no feature directly tackling this: <https://github.com/graphcool/feature-requests/issues/23>. How do you do it then?

You can't check for valid emails right now, but uniqueness is checked if you mark a field as registered. GC will return an error if user doesn't register with a unique email

so if I just use “updateOrCreateUser”, pass in the Auth0 idToken, this has the effect of both updating/creating, *and* signing the user in? no need to pass in bearer tokens for ensuing CRUDing mutations? assuming permissions are right, i can freely begin CRUDing without bearer tokens? thank you btw for the help… much much appreciated

I'm not talking about `updateOrCreateUser`. Calling `createUser` with an `idToken` creates a new user with the corresponding auth0UserId. Now, whenever a request to your API contains a valid token as the `Authorization` header that corresponds with the auth0UserId of a registered user in your Graphcool project, that request is considered authenticated

so, you do need to set the bearer token as the authorization header :slightly_smiling_face:

but `signinUser` mutation is not necessary, as you can use the idToken for that

depending on your specific situation you might be able to start your query at the other side of the relation.

<@U4U3DM9TR> hey! Schema imports are currently only possible with `graphql-up` that is better suited for example projects or documentation... we're already working on a seperate CLI tool that allows the schema import also for Graphcool projects though :slightly_smiling_face:

sweet, can’t wait… we’re a dev shop, and we’re currently switching our stack over to GraphCool… though we're using your freemium during development, so for each project we hand off to a new client, we will make sure that they upgrade to a paid account so we can indirectly support you and this GQL movement… your services are a godsend!!!

Typically MVC only considers the frontend application. How you communicate with the backend is out of the scope of the MVC architecture. For that reason it is very rare to see anyone in the React or Angular community talk about MVC or MVVM architectures anymore. Graphcool is your backend and your persisted data layer.

One small suggestion, in the data browser using shift to select multiple rows inside the table would be useful for me to quickly delete/change multiple sets.
