👋 are there plans to support additional languages for Pactflow AI?
m
Yes, we're spending a little more time on the core generation experience and then we plan to support the top 3 remaining Pact languages (.net, Go and Python) You can see the general big rocks we're working on here: https://github.com/orgs/pactflow/projects/3 (The metrics and auditing stuff is not on there but is part of our current WIP) If you need other languages let me know so I can add to internal feature tracking
m
blasted Ruby unfortunately 🥲 one of the things with pactflow AI I was keen to investigate is putting in tests for legacy services, but unfortunately it isn't supported currently 😞
m
haha OK. Well, we do use Ruby internally. But we don’t have a lot of customers using it, so it’s further down the pile. I’ll add you to the internal tracking issue
m
yeah that's absolutely fair!
If I was my choice, ruby services would be burned down 😂 it is slowly getting phased out but not with enough speed just yet
speaking of ruby and kinda unrelated to pact but potentially related to wider tooling in your company, are there any approaches in mind to leverage AI to generate OAS files from code? (again, ruby)
m
Ha, we’ve actually had that issue in the past (generating reliable OpenAPI Descriptions from code in order to create https://smartbear.portal.swaggerhub.com/pactflow/default/getting-started). We ended up with a sub-optimal solution, but I think AI could possibly improve things for us. It’s not something I’m aware of that exists in SmartBear, but generating OADs from various sources is something actively being explored as I understand.
