In the alpine edge VM, this happens when I try to link an executable from macOS:

alpine:/Users/luke/src/foo$ mac link jj
Permission denied. This command must be run as root. (hint: use sudo?)
alpine:/Users/luke/src/foo$ sudo mac link jj
sudo: mac: command not found
