docker compose run -it --entrypoint "app" --no-deps --remove-orphans \
-v /run/host-services/ssh-auth.sock:/agent.sock \
-v ~/.ssh/known_hosts:/root/.ssh/known_hosts:ro \
-e SSH_AUTH_SOCK=/agent.sock \
app.local install
I can't get the same thing to work in a docker compose file. The know hosts file work but my key is not forwarded into the running container.
yml
environment:
SSH_AUTH_SOCK: /agent.sock
volumes:
- ~/.ssh/known_hosts:/root/.ssh/known_hosts:ro
- /run/host-services/ssh-auth.sock:/agent.sock
I also tried $SSH_AUTH_SOCK instead of the /run/host-services/ssh-auth but also without any success.
On my host machine $SSH_AUTH_SOCK is set and it points to an active socket (/var/run/com.apple.launchd.xxxxxxxxx/Listeners)
The key is added to the agent and is listed using ssh-add -l
I can't figure out why it does not work. Does anybody have any suggestions?

04/10/2026, 7:08 PMunable to configure the Docker daemon with file /etc/docker/daemon.json: the following directives are specified both as a flag and in the configuration file: host-gateway-ip: (from flag: [0.250.250.254], from file: 172.30.0.1)
Is it possible to change the one passed via the flag somehow?

04/15/2026, 9:08 AMorb create nixos I get the dreaded error
[-32098] create 'nixos': make rootfs: image not found: {nixos 25.05 default}
When instead I do orb create nixos:25.11 the command succeeds. All of this despite the fact that the Orbstack GUI lists only the versions 25.05 and Unstable (see screenshot).
What's going on here? Is my Orbstack install corrupted?
Many thanks for any help.
PS: I'm under a macOS Tahoe host on an ARM machine.

06/04/2026, 4:02 PM-p 127.0.0.1:2638:2638) on localhost and is forcing the bridge device on us ā is that on purpose?
Because this is a huge problem for us to the point that we can't use OrbStack anymore. The Python version we use (https://github.com/astral-sh/python-build-standalone) can't resolve .orb.local hostnames (gaierror: [Errno 8] nodename nor servname provided, or not known), the IPs change all the time, and we use OrbStack to run a local database, so we need to be able to configure it to something static.
Any workarounds?aghrt

However, if I unplug the device while it is still attached and then plug it back in, it still shows as "attached" in the UI but I have to detach and attach again for it to show up in the Docker container.pratyush
