is this project no longer maintained? a few hours of downtime and not even an acknowledgement looks really bad

I have no idea. the last blog post from Danny was back in August of 2024. I'm not waiting around to find out. As much as I don't want to run Docker on my Mac, it does work.

You'll note that the issue was dealt with and closed in less than 24 hours.

That's right. The problem is solved. Thats looks like further active mantaining.
