DABBBLE Gallery πŸ™‚
Hey @James R, We (myself and @Ben) managed to edit the css colours and did a few edits to the footer/nav and thats all great! When we installed the gallery we had to do a custom docker setup as the server is split for both the gallery and our php systems https://galleryapi.dabbble.app/v1/docs https://gallery.dabbble.app/ It has a few bugs which we are still trying to work out, currently the apis return 401, which I believe is a mixture of Cloudflare errors and issues on the server
j
Hello! Interestingly that's one server configuration I'm not allowing any control over. I was going to provide a clean way you can add your css/html customisations if you are still looking for that.
Is there any chance you could raise a github issue with a more descriptive error? @Tyler (or you could do it here, but github issues feels like the right place).
t
ah! that would be great to know more about defo
can do, let me have a look and see if it gives anymore details
j
thanks
cool. It hinges on creating a new "app" in the same directory as the
icosa
app. How did you do your current customisations? Did you just make changes to the existing css etc?
and did the same for the css
j
got it. Ok my solution will require you making copies of the files you want chaged and putting them in their own app. A bit later today I'll write up the process of doing this and send it over. Hopefully it'll be pretty straightforward.
t
that would be amazing! thank you πŸ˜„
it would also be great to have the database in MySQL, as it means we could check it more, and also use PHPMyAdmin to view all the data
j
Right, looking at the github issue I see what the problem is. You need to be authorized to see those endpoints and being logged into the web front end is not enough. Do you know about authorizing with a bearer token? If not, I will respond on the github issue to help future people.
t
Oh! That makes more sense I have done bits with bearer tokens before, but does this api need something like an api key?
j
have you discovered the admin at https://gallery.dabbble.app/admin/login/?next=/admin/ I'm not sure how you went about creating a user, but if you followed the install instructions, you should have access to the admin as a superuser.
Yes it does. I'll post on the issue now.
great thank you!
j
Done. Hopefully that all makes sense.
cool. I'd love to know if there are any areas that are lacking here. Please feel free to raise issues on github if anything feels lacking or broken/frustrating.
not sure the best way to word it on GitHub
j
ah this looks like media is misconfigured. Our officially supported way of handling media is using an s3-compatible storage (like s3, minio, b2 etc).
But local media should work.
I will take a look at this.
t
oh! That makes more sense, I thought ths s3 .env part was optional
j
It should be
t
We are using a VPS from IONOS so ideally we would be able to save the files locally
j
does that link work?
from on the host.
t
nope, it should be https://gallery.dabbble.app/710932328976745253/STL/Wedge.stl I think but thats also 404
j
got it. ok cool, thanks for reporting this i will take a look.
t
We are also looking at hopefully having a custom vr build of openbrush to upload to the dabbble gallery, would this be something you/andy could help with once we sort these little bits out? πŸ˜„ A few months back we had a call with Andy, and shared the idea of being able to use it for our events
j
That sounds cool! That would be @andybak 's domain methinks.
t
ah no worries!
a
it shouldn't need a custom build. you can just change the server URL in open brush config file on the device
t
oh great!
j
I've added some instructions to the repo for overrides. In order for these to work, you'll have to pull the latest code. You might need to stash your local chages in order for this to work. Please see https://github.com/icosa-foundation/icosa-gallery/blob/main/OVERRIDING_TEMPLATES.md
t
amazing! thank you
j
Hi @Tyler I've just pushed a change, you should see local media storage is fixed. If not, please let me know. Cheers.
t
Hey! That's great, I will give it a try in a few days and let you know πŸ˜„
thank you!
thank you!
@andybak it might be us being silly, but where abouts do you change the server url/config file?
t
ah great! I didnt see that, thank you
b
Hey @andybak - we've taken a lot at the docs and managed to get the config up, but it only shows the example (empty) config and the docs do not say anything about setting a custom gallery - what setting do we add/edit in the config to set it to go to the dabbble gallery?
a
Ah right. The docs probably aren't updated with that yet. Let me check before I give you the info
you're running the beta of open brush, correct?
Set IcosaApiRoot and IcosaHomePage in Sharing. For example:
json
  "Sharing": {
    "IcosaApiRoot": "https://api.icosa.gallery/v1",
    "IcosaHomePage": "https://icosa.gallery"
  },
would be equivalent to the current defaults
t
not that I am aware of? is that on the app store?
the beta has Icosa support. The regular one doesn't (yet - but very soon)
I'm going to release a new beta today with some icosa related fixes
t
great πŸ™‚
