Hi all! I am curious about the Observable Framework. Are there any (more) examples of it? I am thinking it would make a great product for freelancing bespoke dashboards but I haven’t seen any examples.

The examples that Aaron shared can be considered real world examples. Keep in mind that many production dashboards deal with internal data and are therefore not publicly accessible. In terms of public code I only know of ONECampaign who have published several apps, e.g. https://github.com/ONEcampaign/trade_data_explorer. observablehq/oss-analytics might also be worth highlighting, but beyond that I'd suggest to either search for code that declares the package as dependency or look through the list of dependent repos.

Are you asking whether advertising the creation of Framework based dashboards will give you an edge? If so, then my recommendation would be to instead focus on the benefits and tradeoffs of the baked-in data (e.g. great for daily/hourly reports, less suitable for realtime API consumption).

Yeah, I totally agree that the tech itself is rarely the selling point. I’m trying to figure out whether it makes sense to invest time in building a few example dashboards to properly learn Framework. It feels like Framework could be a good fit for small and midsize orgs.

I would perhaps start by exploring the examples that Aaron shared above. Try to customize and maybe even deploy them, see if the workflow clicks for you (especially when you take theming into account, e.g. to match corporate styleguides). I would also consider aspects like access control, since a Framework app is ultimately just a set of static assets and path based access control capabilities (as provided by some hosting services) may not be enough to accommodate different roles.
