We touched upon this topic a long time ago and we all sort of learned that Vomir was in fact, just a guy and that most people in eurocentric noise scenes are just dudes with day jobs who go on tours occasionally and all that. However, I was talking to a friend the other day and he assumed Merzbow must be rich because of how prolific he is. But uh do people actually buy his stuff often enough for it to meaningfully support him? I know they don't really do welfare as much in Japan and I feel like it must be difficult to release that frequently while also holding down a second job like your favorite western noise artist certainly does.
