John zorn has a lot of fans/imitators so i was wondering which one is your guys favorite? Mine is personally effluence

I know this server is far more noise orientated then noise rock, but i thought it would be a fun question. (when i say "actual" i mean dont put down big black or noxagt seeing as they dont use noise in their music at all they are just kinda abrasive (no hate to either band i love both (i like noxagt more)))

What is the sampled song. The original one what song name please help

Hi, title is self explanatory. Any answers are appreciated.

hello please post a noise song daily you've made in this forum for noisevember as is per tradition thank you.

Title. wanna see what the bottom of the barrel has for me in terms of experimental music.

hello I am an avid listener of noise music and recently I've had to go to my ENT to get my hearing checked and he says that my hearing is permanently damaged from being an avid listener of noise music and hey chat I simply curious like, do I send the artist the bill for my hearing aid? The label? Maybe the producer who refused to leave -6db headroom and is actively contributing to the de-auralization of society through their carelessness? I know you can't offer legal advice but I can't afford my chatGPT subscription anymore and my lawyer friend got canceled for being an abuser and has been ostracized to Portland and we are no longer on speaking terms. Idk what to do am I dying? they can't keep getting away with this 😔 Ill never get my hearing back and I need to be made whole. thanks for reading hope to hear from u soon

(for noise) It's arguable that tapes never went out of style in DIY music communities, but anyone who is obsessed with ~quality~ will argue that vinyl is NOT IT. To that end, I've been seeing a resurgence in CDs and mini discs in the zeitgeist and was curious: what do you think is the "best" Do you care more about audio quality or how it looks on your shelf? (Or are you normal and buy whatever because you just want to support the artist)

Whatcha got, what do you wish you had, and what would you like to know about? Posting my own gear as a discussion starter!

help me settle a debate i've been seeing recently between genres. People are saying that "noise is just free jazz" and I am curious as to where someone would make the delineation between the two.

Not noise pop! I mean like, do you think there's this section of the noise genre that's full of like really popular groups, with a certain predictable production style, and a certain 'accessibility' that you can't quite place your finger on that rubs you the wrong way because at a certain point it all seems 'safe' and comfortable and homogenous? I'd list some bands as an example but also I don't want to necessarily to just list off big names, because it's less about naming and shaming and more about delineating between that safe, shiny, friendly, and approachable aesthetic that the DIY and amateur people will likely never break into.

We get a lot of bleeps and bloops and ambient stuff from modular, but I'm sure there's some really fun (or punishing) noise to be had from the modular side of things as well. I"d love to hear what folks are stringing together (bonus points if it sort of plays itself!)

Hello noise music discord I am, for reason in particular, looking for noise songs that are within the 80-116bpm range. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm looking for members for my new noise netlabel called "Nekroteism Records". I'm looking for artists of any type of noise, we accept almost anything in terms of theme, for now I need 3 members for now, thank you!

Salutations. For the last 6 months I have curated this noise music and performance series. Some are shows, some jams with friends or solo....Stop by sometime O.o https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdGOkS8mMEZSLEo2mnRgWeA

You have to post a noise track every day in November or you lose the game. Do it in this thread. 🐈‍⬛

I feel like it might be useful to have all fests posted in here throughout the year so we can have a running list of fests. Fest owners can make their own threads if they'd like if they even post here lol but yeah.

Use this thread to post a noise track every day in the day of November! WIP is fine. Think of it as nanowrimo for noise but with less drama! If you post a track every day of November you will get a special role that will let everyone know how special you are. Cheers! [Seeing as this is published in late October, we will only count tracks posted in november]

I'm a leader of small software team. Now I'm seeking a collaborator who can work with me. This role doesn't require high tech or much time. And fully remote. If interested, dm me. Thanks.

I am using this thread to maintain an ongoing index of AI generated playlists. It is already going poorly, as you can already see several tracks are unrelated to the source prompt. If I make future ones worth keeping and loosely tangential to noise I will post them here. If you want to participate, follow a format where you post the prompt and a link to the playlist. I have a friend who is building something like that and he wondered if people would be interested

Hi. I play heavy metal, and I like the Slipknot vibes with samples and auxiliary percussion. I use a drum machine, play the bass and guitar by hand, and even have a big kick drum that I could use as the auxiliary percussion. The one thing I don't have is some samples. I like the sounds of glass breaking from the end of "the Heretic Anthem" (Slipknot, Iowa.), I also like the vocal ones, like the "Don't let him get me! Ahhhhh!" sample from the demo version of "Only One" (Slipknot, "Gold Disc" demos). If there is anyone who could guide me to or supply me with some samples and/or sources of samples, I'd greatly appreciate it. Please make sure they're public domain if possible. You technically have to get permission to post it, and that's to much of a hassle at this point in time. Thanks in advance to anyone that is willing to guide me. Sincerely, Jay (#30551)

I know so many noise dudes who hate guitar. Idk if it's just a bit or if they are serious. Personally, I think it's just a useful tool. It's not hurting anyone. But I'd be lying if I said I wasn't by and large bored by them.

Techno-Feudalism is back and making you sweaty as ever

We touched upon this topic a long time ago and we all sort of learned that Vomir was in fact, just a guy and that most people in eurocentric noise scenes are just dudes with day jobs who go on tours occasionally and all that. However, I was talking to a friend the other day and he assumed Merzbow must be rich because of how prolific he is. But uh do people actually buy his stuff often enough for it to meaningfully support him? I know they don't really do welfare as much in Japan and I feel like it must be difficult to release that frequently while also holding down a second job like your favorite western noise artist certainly does.
