Hi <!channel>! Is anyone outside the Uppsala/Stockholm area interested in joining the seqinspector project during the upcoming hackathon (11-13 March)? Each group needs to be either fully online or in an in‑person hub. So if no one is planning to join remotely, we might host a local hub for seqinspector work instead. If you’re interested in joining online, just let me know!
m
the dates are 11th-13th 😉
m
Ooh thank you! I must have gotten the dates from last year 😅 I thought it was weird that it was in the middle of the week, haha.
Fixed!
f
@Matilda Åslin I guess you can give it until end of next week and if we don’t here anything from other people, we can make a local group.

@Matilda Åslin
could you all please make PRs onto the nf-core website with a Markdown file for each of your pipelines/projects, includeding a ‘goal’ ‘descprtion’ and ‘task’ section, and post the PR when it’s ready here, and we can do rapid reviews for you.
If you’re not sure yet if it will be online/local hub feel free to put ‘TBC’ in location.
Do you have time to make the PR?
m
Yes! I guess the goal is to make the first release and adding more modules?
f
we might be able to release even before the hackathon
let’s see what @Maxime Garcia says. In any case, the review from core is in, and it looks very much doable
so expanding with more modules, maybe looking more into long reads…
Also, maybe a bit off topic, but we could look into getting seqinspector into our deployment
m
release time it is then
f
I also had a dream for a long time to have a really good explainer for beginners how to interpret the outputs from MultiQC in our reports (or on our website), Seqinspector would benefit from that
m
My plan would be to push for a release here before hackathon, so you all kids have a clean slate to have fun with, while I play in my own sandbox and continues with references

It would be great if we could have release before. So that the hackathon is focused on: more modules, fixing bugs, improving documentation etc 🙂 I don't know how specific the goal have to be?
m
not too specific imo, but I always recommend to have one or more concrete starting points for people who want to help out and are new

You're the bosses ladies
You'll have the release before the hackathon

I trapped @Rike Hanssen into owning me a review: https://nfcore.slack.com/archives/C05V9FRJYMV/p1770376626704729

evil plan
f
@Matilda Åslin we will open registration for the hackathon today, so it would be great if the project would be up, so people can register with it
are there anymore questions we need to clarify
m
Yes, I will do it today! I'll send you the PR so you can OK it. I'll put both of us as project leaders?
f
okidoki 🙂 Thank you!
