Hi all - quick question about local modules in nf-core/scnanoseq (in regards to an ongoing review for a pipeline release): are modules that aren't yet in nf-core/modules (e.g. isoquant, oarfish) required to be added before a pipeline release? We'd like to keep this release scoped to syntax compatibility + other updates to avoid further delays. (Note: modules that are already in nf-core/modules will be updated — this is only about modules not yet there.) Thanks!

There isn't a hard requirement to push local modules into the nf-core/modules - lots of nf-core pipelines use local modules. However if the modules are generalisable (ie not tied directly to the pipeline in some way) then it's encouraged to push them at some point but you are free to keep this PR clean

Ok great - I will let our reviewer know. We certainly want to push them to nf-core modules but trying to get this release out asap 🙂 Thanks!

Note that this is something I think we will start getting a bit stricter on in the future. With the new
nextflow modules run
command and other developments, shared modules are increasingly valuable.
Fine this time, but worth getting them out before you're in a rush for the next release again 😅

Sounds good!
