Hi, I'd like to use specific parameters for a tool in an nf-test test. I have a specific nf-test nextflow.config where I could add `ext.args` but that overrides the same setting `/conf/modules.conf` . Is there any way to "append" to the `ext` directive?

Could you be a bit more specific? How does it differ from the advice <https://nf-co.re/docs/specifications/components/modules/testing#configuration-of-extargs-in-tests>

And if it's a configuration priority issue are you using the full name/regex in the modules.conf, since that has priority over the simple name and can be used in the test profile config to give a higher priority ( use simple name in the modules.conf )

Hi, thanks for your reply and the link. I _believe_ it does not cover my use case. In `conf/modules.config` I have already defined some `ext.args` for a specific module. Now, in and _additional_ config file, I want to _append_ to the existing `ext.args`. So, ideally, I want the second config to contain `ext.args += "--new-arg-on-top"` but that `+=` is not allowed (at least it doesn't compile for me.)

There's no possibility to append. One has to overwrite it

Using a parameter allows one to keep the part that has to stay and append/overwrite the part that can change
