CLAUDE RUNNING
GIT RESET
TO REMOVE A FEW LINES OF CODE AND WIPING OUT >2 HOURS OF UNCOMMITTED WORK 😡
I know I know, it's on me for not committing often enough
BUT STILL shakefist

Claude giveth and Claude taketh away

Oh, you sweet summer child… that is sad, but at least you didn’t reach existential regret tier yet. Claude running
git reset
is bad, but running
terraform destroy
can wipe an entire company infrastructure on AWS. Alexey Grigorev, the founder of the DataTalks.Club learning platform recently annihilated the entire production environment of his company including all backups. Only AWS support could still help from internal backups.

it's all good, claude managed to rewrite all of the code it deleted again so my rage has subsided somewhat 😅

No. Tokens galore! This is the part that really gives the heavy AI use in RustQC and also the trimGalore rewrite away. They both reinvent the wheel for reading files instead of using one of the established libraries.
p
Huh? That's not quite true - RustQC uses rust-htslib and TrimGalore is using noodles, I believe
And don't worry @Matthias De Smet it wasn't too many tokens 😅 Most of the time was spent running benchmarks and I had a report open that had most of the info in it still, so was able to leapfrog back to where I was using that. Was just a bit frustrating.
