Also since I don't know your backgrounds, would you guys be up for a quick round of introductions? I am mainly interested in where you are from, areas of expertise and prior experience with nextflow/nf-core Let's do it in the thread of this message (I'll go first)
I'm Nico, mostly based in Munich (doing my Master's in bioinformatics) but currently in Paris for an internship at Orakl Oncology, that's why I don't have much time for nf-core currently. I am mostly into machine learning and pipeline development in transcriptomics (non-coding and single cell). Started contributing to nf-core through #C01MKA377LM, later also started #C06MYJFQNPJ and #C077PUX8DBP (currently primary maintainer of these three pipelines). Also guided the folks from #C067K2P6GUV on making their pipeline nf-core compatible, and assisting maintainer of #CHN5BV5DW

Hey y'all I'm Kurayi Chawatama. Member of the core outreach team and currently in my Junior year of a Molecular Biology and Genetics undergrad in Turkey. I've been working with scRNASeq in cancer and immunology research contexts(TCR-Seq and CITE-Seq) for around 2 years now. I have experience mostly running the alignment nf-core pipelines on HPC but have wanted to challenge myself and contribute to to this #C077PUX8DBP pipeline since last year's hackthon. Hopefully this is the year that finally gets done!😆

Hi, I'm Kim, a bioinformatician with a math background, recently finished a PhD at the Koltzov Institute of Developmental Biology (Moscow, Russia). My work focused on genomics and transcriptomics of marine sponges 🧽 during their fascinating whole‑body regeneration processes. In parallel, in an industry role, I wrapped existing bash/make/Python scripts into Snakemake pipelines, mostly for genomic and metagenomic analyses. I only recently started moving to Nextflow but already try to adopt the newer syntax and features. Our team consists of seven Russian‑speaking participants currently scattered from France to Armenia (I’m based in Georgia-the-country), with mixed bioinformatics backgrounds and different levels of Nextflow and single‑cell experience. My own sponge transcriptomics work was mostly bulk RNA‑seq, so I hope to use this hackathon not only to deepen my Nextflow skills but also to learn more about single‑cell analysis. Looking forward to contributing!

Hi! I am Gleb, a bioinformatics scientist with 4+ years of experience in NGS oncology at BostonGene. Most time I worked with WES (CNAs, mutations) and RNAseq data of different cancers, especially renal cell carcinomas. Also I had several projects exploring single cell/nuclei rnaseq data, which I love the most. I adore exploring detailed microenvironment composition and interactions within it. My masters thesis in Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology was devoted to relationship between immunotherapy patients response and immune-cancer cells interactions. I have only educational experience in Nextflow, acquired in Bioinformatics Institute (Saint Peterburg based one). Still I am excited to contribute to your pipeline during this hackathon! (we are teammates with@Kim Fehl )

Hi everyone! I’m Ze Yu, a computational biologist based in Dallas, US, working at UT Southwestern Medical Center. My background is mainly in bulk and single-cell transcriptomics, spatial transcriptomics, and multi-omics integration in disease contexts (oncology, neurobiology, immunology). I work extensively with Nextflow on SLURM HPC systems and am actively involved in nf-core — I’m currently a Nextflow Ambassador and have contributed to workflow development, optimization, and reproducibility efforts. Most of my recent work focuses on single-cell downstream analysis (Seurat v5, pseudobulk strategies, spatial HD data), and I’m particularly interested in improving standardization and modularization of scRNA-seq downstream pipelines. Excited to collaborate and help push #C077PUX8DBP forward this year! GitHub: https://github.com/EZUY

Hi. I am Sam, presently doing my masters in biomedical informatics at Newcastle University, UK with growing focus on systems biology and parasite biology using machine learning. Presently working on decoding protein dynamics of trypanosoma brucei using single cell datasets. I am actually new to nextflow but familiar with Command line, R and Python and it is my desire to really learn and be part of the hackathon this year. Excited to learn and collaborate.
