Hi everyone 👋 I’ve been working on a small tool called nf-mapper that automatically generates visual diagrams of Nextflow pipelines directly from ".nf" files. It parses the pipeline source and converts the workflow graph into a Mermaid "gitGraph" diagram. The idea is to make it easier to understand pipeline structure at a glance and to keep diagrams in sync with the code automatically (e.g. regenerate them in CI and embed in README/docs). i'd be keen to see it side by side against nf-metro, ive got a task in my backlog to try and produce documentation and images directly from my pipeline and i'd be curious if tools like yours could help and also how it differs from nf-metro

Hej, I've been trying to work with nf-metro for quantms. It is not an automatically process at all, it does requires a lot of manual adjustments. I'm sharing here the default output using https://github.com/Skitionek/nf-mapper the default output from nf-metro, and the first manual edition for nf-metro. I'll keep working on it and give more updates.

nf-metro from the DAG:
nextflow run ../quantms -profile test_lfq,docker -stub-run -with-dag flow.mmd
nf-metro convert flow.mmd -o metro.mmd #remove emptsy lines by "hand"
nf-metro render metro.mmd -o quantms_nf-metro-out.svg --theme light

nf-metro manual edition:
metro.mmd

To be clear, nf-metro is only a couple of weeks old, have been working through issues when I can. Please do file issues with source mermaid 🙂. It can read Nextflow's mermaid, but you do get the best with some manual customisation: https://pinin4fjords.github.io/nf-metro/latest/nextflow/
