Hi! Quick question on module implementation. I am updating a module for a tool The tool has a limitation, in that it can only work on FASTAs that have a single contig. Would it be possible/make sense to add a check for this within the module
when
directly, instead of running the tool and having it fail? I figured that would be a way to limit the number of jobs that would get scheduled only to fail (after X time).

I would rather say a pipeline should validate the input is valid at the beginning of the run - not waiting until the module starts (particularly with the module I think you are talking about). To validate you could just
splitFasta, count the number
of rows and then add that as a meta to the fasta files and then use a map (or filter if you don't want to block the run entirely to error if you have an invalid number of contigs
