Hi every one! I am new to nf/core. Very glad to have this tools. Ian running rnaseq on my local computer. CPU: intel core Ultra7 265k 20cores with SSD and 96GB ram with windows OS. I set up the Ubuntu env for running the pipeline Initially those Fast QC were running successfully. However, during the STAR alignment an error occurred. [68/937c16] NOTE: Process
NFCORE_RNASEQ:RNASEQ:ALIGN_STAR:STAR_ALIGN_IGENOMES (MDS1964)
terminated with an error exit status (139) -- Execution is retried (1) Caused by:   Process requirement exceeds available CPUs -- req: 24; avail: 20 I've check the trouble shooting doc. However, I did not find the solution for fixing this problem. Thank you for replying.

Well this sounds like the maximum your workstation has is 20 CPUs. Probably the best way to handle this is to set
resourceLimits
in a custom config/profile. See the Max Resources section of these docs. (Probably useful to read those docs more generally for custom configuration advice too)

I set the config max:12. However, when it fails, it double the to 24.

You used
resourceLimits = [ cpus:12 ]
?
max:12
is not a setting in any context

I'll try to modify the config and try again. Thank you
I set the limit through CLI with this param --max_cpus. As you mentioned, I should use the config
t
The
--max_cpus
parameter does not exist anymore in newer versions of the pipeline, since the
resourceLimits
were introduced in Nextflow version 24.04.
