Hi everyone, a quick question: How can I manually download nf-schema version 2.6.1? I only found the source code on GitHub Releases (for previous versions, I was able to find the JAR files 🙂). I also tried using 
nextflow plugin install
, but it didn’t work. thanks~

And the plugin downloaded successfully.

I think it might be a network issue. What is the repository URL that Nextflow uses to download nf-schema?

I might be mistaken, but I think it's due to a minimal version problem

Interesting, I can replicate your error if I drop the version of nextflow 6 months, and then run it again with a newer version.

The error seems to resolve itself if I use my installed nextflow

There were updates to the plugin system, and it looks like the current mechanism is querying the legacy system, rather than the new registry. The only other suggestion I have is to export the most recent version before you run the command:

export NXF_VER=25.10.2
nextflow plugin install nf-schema@2.6.1
This also seems to resolve the issue for me.

I'm not sure the version is the issue here since I released 2.6.1 when 25.10.0 was the latest version 🤔
Maybe you can try manually downloading the plugin with 
wget <https://registry.nextflow.io/api/v1/plugins/nf-schema/2.6.1/download/nf-schema-2.6.1.zip>
, unzip it and move it to the 
~/.nextflow/plugins
folder

Underlying issue is that new plugins use the new system only and are thought as not existing via old nextflow version using old system

Hi, I've got the same issue when running sarek 2.6.1, the plugin error shows when using the newest nextflow 25.10.2 and also 24.04.8. This didn't help: export NXF_VER=25.10.2 nextflow plugin install nf-schema@2.6.1 is there now, any solution or not?

wget <https://registry.nextflow.io/api/v1/plugins/nf-schema/2.6.1/download/nf-schema-2.6.1.zip>
, unzip it and move it to the 
~/.nextflow/plugins

I cannot reproduce this issue. It works for me when using 25.10 I also tried switching to an older version and switching back, still no issue Plugins that require >=25.10 aren't published to the legacy index so they won't be recognized by older versions of Nextflow

I'm also able to replicate, following the commands from @Chris Hakkaart (after deleting my local cached copies of 
nf-schema
)

It did fix itself (deleting the cache copy), running the older version of Nextflow with nxf_ver, then running it with my locally installed version (25.10) without the nxf_ver env variable. It seemed to work perfectly after that (at least for the install command).

This is expected because nf-schema 2.6.1 requires Nextflow >=25.10, so it wasn't published to the legacy index. You are using 24.10 here

Argh - I thought I was using 25.10, I'm not sure if I was making a typo in the message or terminal. I'll need to check later when I have my laptop.
