03/16/2026, 1:09 PMreject() on the incoming job request, the job is returned to the dispatch queue and LiveKit will assign it to the next eligible agent server matching the agent_name or selection criteria.
What to do in your agent code:
• In Python: call await req.reject() inside your on_request handler.
• In Node.js: call await req.reject() inside your requestFunc.
Important notes:
• Rejecting the request does not cancel the job — it puts the job back into the queue for reassignment.
• If you want to forward based on business logic (busy, missing capability, etc.), check those conditions in your handler and call reject() when appropriate.
If you’d like, tell me which runtime you’re using (Python or Node.js) and share a short snippet of your current handler — I can show the exact place to add the reject() call or suggest a pattern for conditional forwarding.
