1. Provide LiveAvatar credentials:
◦ Obtain a LiveAvatar API key and set it in your environment, e.g. LIVEAVATAR_API_KEY=your_api_key_here.
1. Configure the avatar:
◦ Choose or create an avatar in the LiveAvatar dashboard and copy its avatar ID.
◦ Pass that avatar_id to the LiveAvatar plugin or set LIVEAVATAR_AVATAR_ID in env.
1. Start the avatar from your agent code:
◦ Create an AgentSession and an AvatarSession (from the LiveAvatar plugin).
◦ Call await avatar.start(session, room=ctx.room) so the avatar joins the LiveKit room and receives the agent’s audio/video output.
1. Render on the frontend:
◦ The avatar publishes a video track to the LiveKit room. Any LiveKit client SDK can subscribe and render that video track (React/JS example uses the track reference returned by your voice assistant helper).
1. Test & preview:
◦ Use the Agents Playground or a frontend starter app to validate the avatar joins the room and renders correctly.
If you confirm which of the three options above fits your use case (Agents server integration vs frontend-only vs language/runtime), I’ll provide the exact code example and specific steps for your environment and help you troubleshoot any errors.
