Hi, is it possible that you reproduce the issue with the env var
Copy code
RUST_BACKTRACE=full
The panic doesn’t show enough error to be useful 🙂
b
Yes, I will post an updated message soon. Thanks!

Which
OS & Arch
are you using?
Also which server version are you using?
b
I’m running on Linux it is a Jetson device with ubuntu 20.04 aarch64.
b
And you’re using ffi v0.3.6 right?
b
The server version is
livekit-server version 1.4.5
I’m not really sure how to tell but the first line of output says initializing ffi server v0.3.6

b
how are you sending the data?
are you using the RoomService API?
b
I’m using the livekit python server sdk and using the RoomServiceClient and the send_data function.
b
Ok, understood, so I found the issue, I’ll release a fix tomorrow 🙂 (PDT timezone)
b
Thanks so much!
b
Hey, this should be fixed on v0.4.5
b
Thank you again. I tested the new version but I think I found another bug. In the livekit/room.py the variable rparticipant may not have been init before sending to the emit event causing an error.
Copy code
UnboundLocalError: local variable `rparticipant` referenced before assignment
https://github.com/livekit/client-sdk-python/blob/f7adeb66dc3ef035468480a99037e70a06c7b43e/livekit/room.py#L308-L320 I was able to create a workaround by setting rparticipant = None before the
if
statement. I can make a PR for you but I’m not sure if this is how you really want to handle this. Let me know.
Copy code
elif which == 'data_received':
            ...

            rparticipant = None
            if event.data_received.participant_sid:
                rparticipant = self.participants[event.data_received.participant_sid]
            self.emit('data_received', data,
                      event.data_received.kind, rparticipant)
b
Oh interesting, can you make a PR ?
b
Here you go. Not much of a change. https://github.com/livekit/client-sdk-python/pull/74

b
Thanks, I just merged it and released v0.4.6
