Hey @salmon-flag-32441, are you able to reproduce this with our example app? We've never gotten reports like this before. would definitely like to take a look if we could get a repro
s
@dry-elephant-14928 We tried with the https://meet.livekit.io/?tab=demo and we don’t get this issue. We can give access to our environment and you can try it. The issue only exist so far on Samsung Galaxy other android devices seems to work. You have been in contact with my colleague @wide-shoe-67933 before, so we can just restore your access

@salmon-flag-32441, I meant the Flutter example here. it helps us to determine if the issue is within the SDK.

@dry-elephant-14928 I will run the example and come back to you soon.

@dry-elephant-14928 We started the example and run it and the same problem exist. We hade a Windows PC with Chrome running and Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G. The Windows user can hear himself when he speaks. We have also tried with a MacOS and Chrome.
Same issue with a Samsung Galaxy S20

I'll jump on this thread as well since I was tagged. The issue seems to only appear on Samsung phones. We have not been able to recreate it on Pixel, Oneplus, and Huawei.

Thank you for validating that, we'll look into it

@dry-elephant-14928 We downgraded the livekit server to v1.4.3 and now it works. On version v1.4.4 it breaks again. Hope it can help you guys find the issues faster.
We also needed this to remove self echo.
Copy code
if (KuraPlatform.isAndroid) {
Helper.setAndroidAudioConfiguration(AndroidAudioConfiguration(androidAudioMode: AndroidAudioMode.inCommunication));
}

@salmon-flag-32441 thank you for the update. I'm surprised the server actually changes anything. This seems like a device specific issue. Though the audio mode setting makes sense. I think what you are seeing is some behavior with echo cancellation on Samsung devices. CC: @freezing-lifeguard-43174 @eager-raincoat-52616.
