Hey @happy-ability-28669, are you asking because of latency reasons? Ingress is designed to route requests to the closest region to the origin. Currently it's still in beta, and only deployed to us-east. It would add a bit of latency, but the difference should be <250ms. If you are seeing abnormal latency and is of concern, we'd definitely want to work with you to see how we can reduce it
h
Thank you David for your answer. The latency is not the problem (I had approximatively 1 or 2s the last time I test a few week ago), but I saw some drawback like jerky video or buffering. RTMP is not optimized for long distant (like SRT can be), so I supposed that European ingress should resolve the problem.
c
Long latency to the endpoint can influence the available bandwidth and jitter for sure. Hard to tell if it’s what you’re hitting here or another issue. We should deploy a 2nd ingress cluster fairly soon.
d
If you continue to see jitter/buffering, we'd be happy to take a look at some of these sessions in detail (pasting a cloud session url would be sufficient). as benjamin mentioned, we do plan to bring up Ingress capacity in EU pretty soon.
h
Great. I will make some test next week. I will give you feedback

we did some tests last week, running an ingress on our own on our servers, and we've had no more problems. Everything seems to run smoothly with good quality. So, I can't wait for you to offer ingress in Europe :)

News on ingress' support for SRT ?
d
Hey @happy-ability-28669, we do have Ingress up and running in EU now (at our frankfurt data center). Give it a try and let us know if things work well for you!
We do not yet have SRT support. folks do ask for it pretty often so it's on our radar.

Good idea. I will try tomorrow and give you some feedback if it the sad or better
