Do any Lightdash users here use Raycast?

@Felipe Brandao @Jason Gofford @Jonathan Kizer we have an alpha version of a Lightdash plugin for Raycast 🙂. It’s currently useful as a search for Lightdash content, and quick viewing of metrics in your project. Hoping to release something at some point! Does that sound interesting to you? Is there anything you wish it would be able to do?

So this sounds like something that I didn't know I was interested in until you told me it was possible and/or being considered. What is useful depends on the scope, and how things are coupled to the Lightdash metrics. I can see this being most useful to me for on the fly arithmetic, or just random status checking based on pre-defined metrics. "lightdash stock 12345" where 12345 is a SKU that I want to check the stock of. "lightdash revenue last quarter", and the like. Like I said it depends heavily on the scope and the coupling, and will undoubtedly be constrained by how rigorously and deliberately we set up our metrics.
Things get really interesting if you hook it into the (forthcoming?) AI Assistant/analyst - "what was my year on year increase in revenue in the US market last quarter", etc., but that is a lot of context to decipher.
Before they closed down/liquidated last year, we were using a tool called DataHerald for similar functionality. We've yet to find a replacement so I see a definite niche for such a tool (although that's probably a far broader consideration than just a raycast plugin!

Thanks for the detail @Jason Gofford that’s really helpful! Do you have an example for on the fly arithmetic you’d like to perform? On the other use cases, we’re on it! We tested out an AI integration with the tool and it is working, but there’s a lot of polishing to do

Personally I use Raycast primarily as a launcher, and so the functionality you described would already be useful for that — I can definitely see the ability to get to a certain Dashboard with a few keystrokes as being useful, and would immediately use it for that. I often think “we’ve got a dashboard/metric for that” in meetings, and ability to get there even quicker helps. I’d have to think more on advanced features — where a UI is the primary interface, I tend to jump into that rather than stay in Raycast. I do think future plug-ins with AI Assistant could be very cool to quickly mock up different views/answer questions
