I noticed that the infisical docker image is pretty huge (v0.160.7 is 2.2GB). So, I went through the layers that make up the infisical docker image using dive, and I see that Oracle DB is installed for some reason? It’s installed in
/opt/oracle
and adds about 350MB to the image size. I was wondering if someone could help me understand why oracle is installed in this image and what purpose is serves?

Hi @Gabriel Fortuna, this is likely due to https://infisical.com/docs/documentation/platform/secret-rotation/oracledb-credentials. Let me check with the team for more details

hi @Maidul Islam - thanks for the response. There’s probably scope to really slim down the image in other places too. I wonder how much of that 2.2GB worth of files is actually needed to run the infisical backend+frontend. FWIW - I used this tool to inspect each image layer and how it adds to the overall image size: https://github.com/wagoodman/dive/

100%. We have a few major ongoing initiatives exactly for this purpose. Primarily focused on reducing the size of the image and also the compute required

Good luck! Happy to help out with putting the image on a diet, time permitting
