all good, hard to say anything on the internet w/o getting blasted, and especially when you are ackshulling. I was hoping that by explaining how the term changed, rather than what the term originally (really) means, I'd be able to avoid some of this, but it appears not.

htmx is built out of sheer spite for JSON, it sprang fully formed from my forehead like Athena from Zeus, no actual javascript code was written that's just a cover story you fools

i have told this story before, but one of my favorite reddit comments ever was I think on /r/webdev or maybe /r/javascript, and someone asked "If you were going to make the worst JavaScript framework possible, what would you do?"

This is so frustrating to read. Most of the responses seem to be "This isn't how I've seen applications work so it wouldn't work and thus it's idiotic to consider". I'm 100% sure that if you found a SOAP RPC mailing list from when the REST thesis came out, it would 100% mirror this conversation

for all the storm and drang, the article ended up at 350+ points on 🍊 and the ideas are getting out. for every didn't-read-don't-care comment I bet there are five people who have a better understanding of what the uniform interface is

First rule of the Internet: Thou shalt not read the comments. I read both Reddit and the orange site through Feedly so I can see what's linked to without getting exposed to the toxic waste. If I wanted to know what a bunch of 14-year-old jackasses thought, I'd hang out with my nephew's friends.
