    My use case is an application that is mostly read-only, but it would be useful to store some state pertinent to the user in local storage that doesn't require the permanence to store it server side.

    @powerful-eye-47205 I'm gonna stick my neck out and say hyperscript is actually greater than htmx, however, I recognize I have an extreme bias considering I learned english as a first language and I (maybe wrongly) think that is also one limitation of its potential for adoption.

    For me, the English-like syntax is more of a novelty. It's pretty neat to be able to write something like "on click openMenu() then set isOpen to true". But I think the real magic is in how it keeps track of state even when pieces of the DOM are shifting around. Also the fact that English-like or not, it is very concise – which makes it a much better fit for sticking your script directly on the element.

    well you're preaching to the choir here mate but yeah, i'm finding both htmx and hyperscript a godsend, but i'd be interested to hear the views of the non-native english speaking webdev community on hyperscript

    It's a good point. English grammar is super-weird. A scripting language based on these grammar rules might be an additional hurdle for non-native English speakers.

    Any natural language has idiomatic weirdness. I don't even think Esperanto or Lojban avoid it. Subsets of natural language are fun though. I like writing tests in Gherkin, for example.

    just found out about sanity.io headless cms and it looks pretty comprehensive and maybe a really nice fit with htmx projects. https://www.sanity.io/docs/presenting-block-text seems like they tooling to output your content in a variety of formats too.

    Is anybody here working with htmx and web components? If yes, do you build your classes with htmx in mind or do anything differently?

    Current (and totally OK) solution: load script in head (and defer). Works good so far.

    There's been discussion about web components but I don't think anyone's presented a working example. If you can share your work or a distillation in a codepen that would be awesome! Else it would be fun to discuss more.

    On another topic... How do you deal with 404 when using hx-boost? I was thinking about having a really simple script redirecting to an actual 404 whenever it happen. But I would like to hear what others do.

    Yeah we'll just like I said... Loading the component's script in the head works. But I'd be curious to look deeper and actually loading components (and their related scripts) with htmx. At first (and innocent) glance, I don't see why it couldn't work.
