I'll see about getting my caching strategy figured out more

Hi folks, hope all are doing great. I wanted to build this for a long time, recently I got some time to spare

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s3O4xLW7qgA▾

Url: https://htmx-playground.vercel.app/ this is a drag-n-drop builder for creating HTML with htmx-attributes support the original intention was to build an end-to-end no-code editor for building Express.js apps with HTMX, still a long way to go appreciate any inputs/feedback 🙏

Maybe I'm just bad at drag&drop but I can't figure out how to grab an existing element and move it.
  • b
    same 🙂
  • s
Sorry for the inconvenience, drag-n-drop inside the editor is not possible as of now, I am working on the alternative to re-arrange the elements in the right side panel.
  • t
That really kills the whole point of drag and drop for me, if I can't easily move things around to see what they'd look like.
  • m
amazing! I can see this, if it is integrated well enough, becoming a very HyperCard like experience!
  • r
wild to think about. full circle.

can someone help me make sense of this reply: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=31307172

I think the translation of "Pouah" to "Ugh" changes the tone of it quite a lot. It's more of a "wow", at least taking the rest of the tweet into account.
  • m
    🙂 I figured as much.

I read it as "woah" because I'm an american westerner

MVC frameworks are going to make a massive comeback

    100% agreement

🙌 (for me (and many of us, I imagine); they never even went away 😉 )

I think, for the future we need htmx t-shirts
  • f
I was thinking about something like that:
  • t
    Shouldn't the class be
    clothes
    with a
    hx-post="/clean"
    ?
  • t
Because otherwise you're just grabbing new clean clothes every day, which seems wasteful.

imo if graphql is done right (ie not exposing the whole data through an endpoint), it's less a security risk than a complexity / performance timebomb
  • m
what's your take on how hard it is to do right/how often it is done right? (I have to admit, I've never once created a graphql end point and, from the looks of it, never will)
  • f
    hmm… In fact,
    hx-get="clean-clothes"
    would have been enough
  • m
I think @high-toothbrush-44006 said that facebook whitelists all their graphql queries, that seems pretty draconian to me, but, again, no real experience
  • e
I don't touch it either because I prefer the server to send only the needed data rather than the user/front doing the filtering
  • e
    sounds rather sane
