all good, no big deal, just take some deep breaths and be in montana carson, all good

I’m working on a React app that’s being embedded as a Micro Frontend and that talks to a federated Appsync GraphQL endpoint. It’s two forms and a table.

Is this a new thing? Last time I messed with it, using class selectors for swapping only swapped the first instance. My previous experience, plus the dev saying it's not possible to have multiple targets above, makes skeptical
  • b
None of that is a flex btw 😀
  • h
Can hx-swap-oob be used to swap while keeping the html in place instead of removing it? Updating 2 elements

Is there any way to read HTTP Response Headers within an
    htmx.onLoad
    block?
  • e
Not sure. I've personally never used it, but it says it's possible in the docs so my comment is based on that. Maybe it's meant to work like that, but hasn't been implemented yet?

I have a client that is using a json api created and consumed between three parties - cms, broker, mobile app - they mandated that each endpoint needed to generate a "contract" which is a psudo json schema file
  • h
I am pushing them to adopt graphql because they already do the work
  • h
    but man
  • h
if I thought for a second I could talk them into just returning html
  • h
I am having endless meeting - "now that we are a public company it is very important that our api's are secure"
  • h
the solution they sound like they want to go with with is literally to just do a graphql between the cms and broker, and then Proxy a whitelisted set of requests between the mobile app and the broker to the cms

    > Makes sense. Assuming an authenticated connection, wouldn’t it be pretty obvious which account was attempting shenanigans?
  • m
tfw u have lived long enough to become "the security guy"
  • m
Not sure knowing who p0wn3d u is gonna fly when the lawyers show up
  • h
    lol
  • m
You have "massive data breaches with legal implications" we have "attempting shenanigans"
  • m
    we are not the same
  • h
I also like that it's "attempted"
  • h
I "attempted" to breach you by curling all your data
  • m
ach, laddy, the users be attemptin' a bit o' the ol' shennanigans again

an authenticated connection... connection to what? hint: ||it starts with S and ends with erver||
  • h
assuming I don't do anything silly like update the db in a get request, is there any downside to putting preload on the root element next to boost=true?
  • h
    I can't think of one
  • h
but I want to assume I'm missing something
  • g
many redundant requests could be one downside
