    element (or whatever) in my _404.html. If the 
    hx-retarget
    overrides the request for where to target the response, is there any way to override the 
    hx-select
    too?

    Hi everyone! I'm trying to boost a form, while at the same time having an active search field inside. Ideally I'd like something like this, which doesn't work:

    The trigger on the text input is ignored, but I'd like for it to have "precedence" over the form, if it makes any sense. I tried a different approach before, where I didn't have the trigger on the form, but each field with its own and a 
    hx-include
    . This solution was way more verbose, and doesn't work well with default select inputs, as the selected option is not actually updated.

    Can you add a filter to the form's change trigger and check the id of the target to make sure it isn't that input? Alternatively you could use javascript to catch and cancel bubbling of the change event on the input

    core problem is going to be that that input is going to change and it will trigger the form

    now that I write it out, I don't think you need to do anything special, since you want the change of the input to trigger a form submission too

    No, it's not what I want. When the text input changes I need the whole form to be submitted. You can see the behaviour in your example too: write something in the input text and

    appears, then as soon as you defocus the input 
    Form Request 0
    appears too

    No, those are two filters for a table. A search box and a dropdown to choose a parameter.

    The main problem with having the change trigger on the text input is that it doesn't submit the updated select value (I'd have to udpate it with js, but I'd like to avoid that if possible

    We do that because, for example, things like links or navigations don't typically include the data of the form they are in
