    That doc page says that links will be pushed but doesn't mention it for forms. I suppose it would be nice to have that explicit but saying such things out loud will make @User invoke rule 7b 😄

    i guess you are technically correct, which is the best kind of correct, but I had to read it again for a third time, and already know, to catch that. is there a reason it cant be consistent here?

    I think the issue is with the underlying complexity of forms; htmx collects and posts the fields just like a form submit would, but that's a different animal from simply intercepting a link and using XHR. What you can do for forms, if you're "all in" on htmx, is something like 
    <form hx-post="/contact/<?=$id?>" hx-target="#content">
    . You would still need an 
    hx-push-url
    attribute for that, but if your back end is htmx-aware, you can include the 
    HX-Push
    header in the response to add to history (e.g., if you want to redisplay the form in case of errors, but go somewhere else if everything worked).

    hx-boost
    , 
    hx-target
    , and 
    hx-push-url
    are inherited, you will likely see most examples that use them having them higher up in the page. That reduces the repetition, and then you can override them if you need something different.

    The code is here, though it needs some work to be shareable. I can put it into the hyperscript-widgets repo, and would absolutely love to get another set of eyes on it.

    okey. though since it works as expected when simply adding 
    hx-push-url
    to the form tag, i think ill just stick to that. i guess having boost grab from action like it grabs from href is more complicated than it seems

    Yes, TinyMCE, ckEditor, and literally any other established package will be better for a production site. This is somewhere between a proof of concept and an alpha. But (clocking in at 75 lines of code) it shows what we COULD accomplish with a little effort 😀

    My client wants to send out a newsletter tomorrow at the latest. I was informed yesterday, and I'm on for 2 hours a day. After this one I'll have about a whole month to swap tinymce out for something else

    when boosting behaves weird to me, can someone help me unpack? If I dump the headers from the server on a boosted response I end up seing boosted: true, current_url: X , and when i look at the content and address bar I see Y instead. meaning the current_url seems more like the previous url to me

    say you are looking at a model view and there is a boosted it link. you click edit. the server is then in the process of handling how to render an edit form, but the "current url" is the view url.
