Hi there, I'm starting to use htmx and for example if I create a button directly in html like this there is no problem:

<button hx-post="/close"  hx-trigger="click">  Test </button>

But creating the same button within script code makes the button to not work:

                    button.setAttribute("hx-trigger", "click")

Actually, creating a single script anywhere works, but having the script within a async function makes it the problem

Working with html forms. There are four states: 1: input was not changed yet 2: User changed the input. Data is unsaved and changes are not in the progress of submitting. Maybe cause the form needs an explicit click on a "save" button. 3: Data was changed by the user, and the change gets sent to the server in this current moment. 4: Data was saved to the server. maybe 5: Data did not validate on the server. The input of the user gets displayed again, so that he/she can fix his input. This is the basic of every form/input handling on the web. Up to now I have not found a simple solution to make the user aware in which state his/her form is. Do you know a simple (htmx compatible) way to handle the visualization of these states? Please reply in thread (I am old)

Hello! I have a question about SSE: what is the easiest way to make the client close the connection, ie, EventSource.close()? It would be great to be able to, either on the client or server, clean up those resources if I know I've sent all the data that I'm going to.

it would also be nice to have the top navigation not disappear when you scroll, or otherwise move the search bar somewhere that it is constantly visible

i've not seen a pure htmx way to do it. Instead I've used hyperscript

In htmx, if you remove the DOM node that hosts the SSE tags, it should close the SSE connection, too. For example, if you have another

hx-get

that changes the underlying page, you can close the SSE. I use this on my CMS. Most pages maintain an SSE connection to the server to subscribe to updates about that particular page. But when you navigate away, the original connection is removed and a new one is created to receive updates for the new page.

Hi, I have the following in my html template. This code is part of generated table where each gets a value from my backend, inserted as {{ g.score }}. This is a django template/backend. The hx-post gets a new value from the user and saves it to my backend, and this is working as expected. I would like to style the element (backgroundcolor of the input) based on the new value. Does htmx provide a way to change the value of the element's class (or in-line style), based on the innerHTML? {% for g in grade_list %} {% endfor %}
