    hi folks. Having a first read as the docs: can you target more than one element? Example: There are two lists side by side. When I click on an element of left, I want it to disappear from left list and display it on right list, simulating a "move". I could target the parent element of both lists, recreating them entirely, but that seems overkill.

    nvm, it seems it's not covered in detail on the main docs but on the examples: https://htmx.org/examples/update-other-content/

    I was thinking it might be useful to have some way of limiting which hosts that htmx accepts trigger and oob swap headers from... is this possible?
  • c
    if my site was pulling was pulling in some json from a third party api and displaying it in a div ( just for demonstration purposes ), later on down the line that third party starts returning trigger and oobswap headers with thier payloads I could be fluffy ducked? no?
  • c
    Im not sure how the scenario you just describes has anything to do with oob swaps. were you thinking of calling a third party service that returns html fragments perhaps?
  • p
    "Cross-site OOB-ing?"
  • p
    I'd like to be the first to offer XSOOB vulnerability mitigation services. hehehe
  • g
    Or they could just send a script tag... Don't embed HTML from third parties people
  • c
    AFAICT if you dont run htmx.process() on the returned fragment, htmx wont act on it

    FYI, I ended up refactoring my code to support both standard routes and modal routes....

    a little off topic, but a CSS library idea: https://twitter.com/htmx_org/status/1491560552375586819
  • m
    start classless with a good out of the box experience
  • m
    with strong styling of things like and
  • m
    and then offer utility classes (maybe not as elaborate as tailwinds?) for styling
  • m
    however
  • m
    the utility classes should be very powerful
  • m
    e.g. you don't need to add five classes to get a label and input to line up right
  • m
    just a single class does all that
  • m
    (I've always been confused why that requires so many classes)
  • m
    is this insane/wrong/already exists?
  • m
    @User you are smart, wdyt?

    does htmx eval() the tags inserted dynamically?
  • b
    1cg This just sounds like a solid base stylesheet under a utility-class CSS lib. So just make a big stylesheet that operates after pico/tailwind/w/e's resets but before classes
  • g
    i usually write css from scratch since the sorts of things I do are quite basic
  • g
    in terms of looks
  • g
    one thing I'd like to see is a concept of "density"
  • g
    so if you apply low density, that element has big padding and everything inside has bigger margins
  • g
    then you can apply a high density class to e.g. a drop-down
  • g
    Copy code
    html
<header class="-density:-3">
  <h1>This is a great product</h1>
  <section class="toolbar">
    <button class="-primary" aria-controls="signup"
       _="on click show #signup">
      Sign up to the mailing list
    </button>
    <form id="signup" class="popover -hidden -density:2">
      ...
    </form>
  </section>
</header>
