but that doesn't fire for oob elements?
  • g
Hmm.. I think there may be other events that fire for those. If not, it's probably something we could fix. Are you comfortable submitting an issue on Github?
  • h
    yeah
  • h
I have a poc of the error at: https://animelister.fly.dev/mushoku-tensei-isekai-ittara-honki-dasu-part-2/ if that's helpful as well
  • h
    login w/ b@b.com asdfasdf
  • h
    and then rate anything
  • h
the increments in the header and body will update correctly
  • h
but the oob message in the bottom left doesn't init
  • h
  • g
You'll probably need to tell Vue about that new element.
  • h
ah it might be my misunderstanding then
  • h
I assumed that the afterSwap would call for the swap target AND the oob elements
  • h
IE if I click add, get the form body back and an oob message I would get two fires of the after swap event
  • g
Yes, sorry. My last comment wasn’t helpful. I don’t see anything on the docs about which events are triggered in an OOB swap. There SHOULD be something. It will just take a little digging.
  • h
    I'll put an issue up
  • h
here's another question - I am using HX-Redirect in response to a success form submit that should move off the page
  • h
is there a header equivalent to that like hx-redirect-boost
  • h
    oh shoot actually
  • g
Yes. I think this is the thing to do. In the code (https://github.com/bigskysoftware/htmx/blob/c0b0f17748a614f1f1989fa7c5c90d65c4d33285/src/htmx.js#L531) it looks like oob swaps aren’t triggering any events. You might be able to get away with listening for an Ajax request to end, but the better solution is probably to update htmx.
  • h
I can use the exact thing that 1cg made for me I think I understand that now
  • h
  • h
    nice
  • g
I’m not sure what that equivalent would be. Hx-redirect just pushes the whole page to the new location. I guess you’re looking to stay on the same location, but redirect the Ajax call to a different place?
  • g
I think a regular redirect might do the trick (Is that a 302?). Or, you might just handle the “redirect” on your server side, and just serve up the correct content of the next page you want to go to.
  • g
Oh, perfect. He’s quite a guy… always a couple steps ahead of us 🙂
  • h
yeah I talked about it with him, he made that and now I have an idea how to use it
  • h
took me talking about it a second time to actually grok it
  • h
  • h
I'm trying to convert my stuff over to typescript, I'm getting some errors on
    Copy code
frontend/js/system.ts:50:6 - error TS2339: Property 'on' does not exist on type 'HtmxApi'.

50 htmx.on("htmx:afterSwap", function(evt: any) {
        ~~
  • h
I copied over the htmx.d.ts, but on isn't declared - is that missing?
