    Hello! Does htmx have the API I can call from js that does the same thing as the attribute interface. I know it must be not be the mainstream usage. I need to swap the whole page on load if some variable is

    . As I already have htmx in the project, I thought I can use it here too.

    I am trying to build TodoMVC (https://github.com/tastejs/todomvc-app-template) using Spring Boot/Thymeleaf and HTMX. One of the first things I try is trying to delete a todo item by clicking on a

    So I have 
    hx-target="closest li" hx-swap="outerHTML swap:1s"
    on the 
    <ul>
    . And I have 
    th:attr="hx-delete=${'/' + item.id}"
    on the delete button itself. HTMX is doing a DELETE request to the server and it comes back with a 204 No Content, but the 
    <li>
    is not removed from the page. Any idea what might be wrong?

    Ok, just found the problem. It seems that the 
    DELETE
    request needs to return an empty body, not a 204 No Content. Would it be possible to make it work if the server returns a 204 ?

    "No Content" doesn't mean "return nothing and render it": > The HTTP 204 No Content success status response code indicates that a request has succeeded, but that the client doesn't need to navigate away from its current page.

    the client already knows that it's meant to be deleted, as it sent a delete request. OK means "OK, I deleted it"
