Question for the group regarding HTMX + SSE or WebSockets... What I need to do is a sort of remote control. There is a browser in location (A) showing some content being loaded from a controlled server and another browser in location (B) managing the content on said server, I need to be able to send messages from page B to page A. Let's just say play pause stop restart, that sort of thing. The current solution uses pub/sub but i think its overkill (and expensive). I feel like SSE is a good possibility especially as it is supposed to repair broken connections automatically. WebSockets can certainly help, but I'd need to manage the connection manually if it breaks... Any thoughts or examples anyone can point me at? I've heard @User is knowledgable here...

w/ decent server-side caching, that can be really fast

i'm concerned about the # of requests. it feels terribly wasteful to make a request every second forever... In a nutshell, What I'm looking for is for a form post to trigger a specific sse message to a connected client.

Yep, if that's the architecture you want, SSE is the way

polling works better than you'd think, in my experience, but I get where you are coming from

It'll mostly be a server-side problem in this case, making sure the event gets triggered on the server side
