    on the new HTML so that you can use htmx tags in the new nodes.

    I'm probably going in the direction of not using hx-boost and just hx-get/post all the things (with hx-select so I don't need to rewrite all my server responses). It's causing more headaches for my use case than it solves.

    If there's room in your project for it, you really should try hyperscript. There are many features that sold me. Here's one that might sell you..

    It's been working great for us. We do add some custom js though to disable it for stuff we know it won't work on. Like existing xhr requests

    We also check if the response is from a newer version of the site (we deploy multiple times a day) so in that case we disable boost for the next request so css and js is reloaded properly

    I find alpine works nicely for the intricate JS stuff. All to your own taste of course.

    Stimulus is good too, and forces some structure on how you set up your JS files (keeps teams going amok)

    On hx-boost, as a test, I actually rewrote it as an htmx extension. That might be a starter for a highly customized version that you could use to do everything you want. I don't think it's on GitHub, but I can try to dig it up, if that would help.

    I'd like to keep things vanilla to start with - default htmx has a ton of features I'm learning about, so could be I figure something out and come back to hx-boost. But if I hit an issue, it's easier to fix if I keep the install as simple as possible.

    Just checked... the swapping and settling classes are always added even if the new content that is swapped in is the same as the previous content

    But in my script that does the swapping stuff outside of htmx I tried checking if the original and new content diffed and that seems to work. So I could add a class or something on those elements that have actually changed.
