    I thought about it because I'm using using spring data rest which generates all my endpoints with json response automatically, therefore client side templating is easier to do. But if I used something like handlebars which I could use both on the backend and frontend it wouldn't be much work

    Does anyone know of a Bootstrap 4 DatePicker that is declarative rather than imperative? Something I could just mixin with the rest of my html/htmx and not have to add dirty old JavaScript?

    Yes. Good point. If you're already using Handlebars, then the equation may work out differently for you. But, I'd encourage you to be gentle with the amount of Javascript you load on your clients' browsers. That's one of the big benefits of using htmx/hyperscript.

    Hey @User - wish I could help you with widgets, but I don't have any good recommendations.. One thing I discovered with the bootstrap modal was that you can probably replace (most of?) the required Javascript library. It meant I could have one less dependency and only lean on the Bootstrap CSS (the best part of it, by far) to make the widget work.

    You might try using the default widget that comes bundled with Bootstrap, and just write a few of your own event handlers (or hyperscript behaviors) to make it work...

    It's a great library – but I'm not sure why

    were dropped. htmx doesn't feel like the 2.0, but actually a step backwards having to rely on hyperscript. How do you actually best handle the roadblocks mentioned? I'd be more than glad to have my mind changed / be proven wrong.
