but what happens is we create a list with the target in it, and then, for the outerHTML swap, we append all the new top level content that is replacing it into the list as well. We then trigger the settle/swap events on the entire list

I am using outerHTML as default and everything works perfect. Just found this problem with my own cache implementation because "components" were being cached twice on iOS. Thanks to your explanation I just learned about https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/Node/isConnected and I can use that to trigger it once for the replaced target.

event here that someone else may be using now. But for me, it's been a nuisance from the beginning 🙂 I had found a workaround checking against a null evt.target, but on Safari it's different than in Chrome. The isConnected property solves all problems for me.

You can see the issue with the counter here https://app.getyoyo.dev/#counter-component Increase it, then go back. In Chrome it works. But in Safari you have to go back twice.

I am asking because I do not see a recommended pattern to manage JS "sprinkles" and I want to poll the community here for what they do/envision?

I've got a list of topics that I generate and create a button for each topic that has an hx-trigger="click, acct1" (the others in the list will be (click, acct2) etc. When the button is clicked it fetches a list of items related to that account - all good. Then the user can click on an Edit button to open an edit panel, edit the item and save it. Now when it's saved I am trying to use php header to return a HX-Trigger response with the event - ex: acct1 to cause it to reload the item list for that account as the title may have changed. This doesn't work and I wondering what I am missing? I need to identify which topic is to get triggered with the response and thought this should work. Any thoughts?

Can you post some code? I don't see anything in that that looks unlikely to work
