Cool - so that is the code I meant, that goes around lime finds the window in the win api and then sets the layered attributes. I'm trying to figure out how to do it via lime and SDL which should be possible too. But this is cool because people have been asking and there has been no fully functional example available to refer to. Thanx again.

I forked lime and built from scratch. I am prepping to mod some of it and I opened it in vscode. All good but I cannot see how to tell vscode to build with lime. I suspect that's because there is no project.xml. But the powershell build is done with lime rebuild .... Any idea how I can get vscode to play along ? At the moment it only offers Haxe build

Also, the "correct" and portable solution is to add a setOpacity function to lime's Windows class that ends up calling
    SDL_SetWindowOpacity
    .

Your solution is hacky and non-portable :)

hopefully I am not speaking out of line but the transparent window seems to be a craze in FNF circles
