Haxe

they are order dependent

If you have like

image1.png
image1.png
image2.png

the 2 image1's get batched

But if its
image1.png
image2.png
image1.png

they dont get batched

even if like the image1's are only on the left side and image2 is only on the right

I feel like i had bad perf from steppers, and remade them to just call a func directly and it works so much better

incredibly over-engineered and rarely worth the complexity

before with 10ish steppers changing one took a sec or 2, every time

im talking about render performance, i dont really have a issue with the broadcast system yet, and when i do ill change up that system

Also i suspect the many draw calls to actually make the ram increase

i'm honestly not very up to snuff on rendering perf, not as much as i should be

skarminspelning-2023-02-28-kl-20-35-50

Edit apparently it was 800-1400 drawcalls for some reason

that number appears to gradually increase

do you have that add stepper loop in the update function?

the state looks pretty simple, what's the full state code?

im not seeing anything that suggests it's increasing

```hx
class TestLeak extends FlxUIState
{
    override function create()
    {
        for(x in 0...18) {
            for(y in 0...15) {
                if(x % 2 == 0 && y % 2 == 0) {
                    var stepper = new FlxUINumericStepper(x * 70, y * 50, 1, 0, 0, 255, 0);
                    stepper.broadcastToFlxUI = false;
                    add(stepper);
                }
            }
        }
        FlxG.mouse.visible = true;
        super.create();
    }
}
```

I have a separate sprite behind the item, which is about 3 times larger. but technically I can do it in the same sprite, I do everything I do now plus having an early return if the pixel has a color already(meaning it's part of the non transparent graphic)

i think the lag might mess with when the counter gets reset maybe

The more complicated stuff I try to do, the more I start feeling the lack of features openfl gives you

Yep. Even lime. Hit this big time this week
