It's just a thought, doesn't call a lot of tweens affect performance in some way?
  • c
You dont have a ball you have a box. This example game just sets the gravity of the area after rotating the screen. there is nothing fancy with physics, collisions, or anything like that.
  • c
I think you mean that the sprite itself rotates. That's being "faked" on move, i imagine (when on ground, rotate the sprite, or: rotate the sprite in the x direction its moving
  • w
i believe they are just setting the angular velocity to it's x velocity
  • t
exactly 😭 thats what I mean
  • t
    ohhh
  • c
As I said. echo isnt doing that. They are faking it. you can rotate stuff yourself if youd like: ie: when the box hits the ground, rottate the body to 0
  • w
    yeah
  • c
but thats a solution we gave and discussed above 😅
  • w
i don'[t know if echo has friction
  • c
it wont resolve collisions via rotation is all, friction irrelevant-ish from what i understand
  • w
to achieve the effect you want you set angular velocity to x velocity and apply drag to slow down the body, slowing the roll
  • w
so I friction is relevant to the hack
  • t
thank you markl and George, I apologize again for all that mess
  • w
    i think that's what they're really after
  • t
    I'll do that thanks
  • t
    so like that?
    plr.get_body().rotational_velocity = plr.get_body().velocity.x;
    and I set a drag x too
  • w
    try it
  • t
    well it still keeps rotating
  • w
    even when not moving?
  • t
    yeah
  • w
sorry I'm not familiar with echo, that seems odd
  • t
    oh hold on
  • m
    echo is confusing
  • c
    imo, its not odd
  • c
    that seems correct
  • c
    its colliding with a wall/floor
  • t
    oh
  • w
    so it keeps rotating?
  • t
    yeahh
