If this were Adobe Flash, I would've easily been able to make the Beat em up...
  • i
    ..hm
  • u
I made the colliders for one the really chronic way
  • u
Hardcoding them in frame by frame
  • s
    FlxG.watch.add
    has never crashed for me
  • u
if anyone is interested i solved my camera problem, all it took was set the camera target as a player's child using FlxNestedSprite

    @stocky-elephant-7093 Try doing this:

  • i
    And then press enter
  • i
Boom, it crashes on Neko, but it edits the value in flash
  • i
Making manipulating objects that much easier
  • u
    naxe is racist against neko
  • u
Weird! For some reason, AI of the paddle that moves vertically doesn't work
  • r
I'm struggling getting my game to have a decent performance on flash
  • r
any advice on what to do on flash, like "dos and don'ts" would be really appreciated
  • u
I found this on Adobe.com, dunno if it could be applied to Haxe: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flash/articles/optimizing-flash-performance.html
  • c
could u describe what u do and where do u ahve performance issues?
  • r
I'm not sure what's not performing
  • r
but, for instance, it's said somewhere in flixel documentation that rotating sprites is slow in flash
  • r
and I think there's something about antialising
  • c
    ugg
  • c
antialising used to be slow on flash as fas as I remember
  • r
so, I do both. I use antialising and I rotate sprites
  • c
    try removing those :S
  • r
the game looks like crap without AA T_T
  • r
and everything is based on rotated sprites, so I'll have to rewrite so much stuff to use FlxSpriteAniRot
  • r
    flash is so much trouble
  • r
not only performance, but regular stuff that work on other targets don't work on flash
  • s
That's what happens when you use an execution platform that's being forcibly deprecated by browser distributors.
  • s
    and also everyone else
  • u
    Would HTML5 work better?
