Hey everyone! I'm trying to configure Claude Tag in Slack but running into signing issues in the merge queue. It's not an issue for non-bot accounts as we have the signatures setup in graphite as per the docs 🙂 It appears Claude Tag when installed as a GitHub App (
claude[bot]
) opens PRs via the GitHub API. GitHub auto-signs those commits with its web-flow key so they show Verified on the PR, but when the merge queue rebases the commit into a batch draft the signature is dropped (doesn't know what signature to use for the bot) and the rebased commit lands unsigned, so our required signed commits rule rejects it. Wondering if there is a way to have bot created PRs get in while still requiring signatures?

hey Joel, unfortunately it's not possible for Graphite to sign the rebase commits for the bot's PRs using the current merge queue procedure due to a GitHub limitation. We have in our backlog to try re-architect this to use a different approach that may get around that limitation, but it is not roadmapped so for the foreseeable it's necessary to merge signed bot PRs from in GitHub.
