Merge Queue optimizations require Graphite to be included in the GitHub setting “Allow specified actors to bypass required pull requests.” Add this via classic branch protection rule or as a ruleset in GitHub and try again.
This setting does not exist anymore. Is there an up-to-date setup guide for Graphite Merge Queue?

hey tyler, are you using the branch ruleset or the classic branch protection rule? i see the checkbox for classic branch protection rule.
j
The new-style rulesets didn't seem to work for me, even configuring the app to use the new-style bypass wasn't accepted.
p
are your rulesets at an enterprise or organization level?
as a workaround, you could create a classic branch protection rule, enable the CI settings in Graphite and then delete the classic branch protection. our team is aware of this issue and currently working on a fix.
j
rulesets were on the repo level for me
p
yeah, i would suggest working with the classic branch protection rules until a fix is in place on the graphite side.
j
That's what I ended up doing, but it was slightly annoying because copilot auto-review uses rulesets.
p
totally agree. we'll keep you updated on when our team has put in a fix for the branch rulesets since we know github is really enforcing the branch rulesets.
