Hey folks, I just ran an Extension Bisect on VSCode to try to figure out why my CPU was constantly pegged. Turns out it's the Graphite extension that's doing it Happy to send any logs you want from my local system to help you debug, in case it's environment specifics. I'm running Tahoe on an Apple M1 Pro

thanks, seems like youre beyond a version where we had addressed some performance issues. So, when you disable the extension things calm down? what other extensions do you have running? As an aside - you are running a slightly old version of the CLI that may be worth upgrading anyway. Any idea of what is spiking? ie git processes or maybe something else?

I'm not sure I ran Extension Bisect in VSCode, which one works like 
git bisect
And the graphite extension was the one that popped out
It's the Code Helper (Plugin) process that goes nuts
I'm happy to re-enable and send logs or take a core dump or whatever

You may have hit the same kind of thing I did, @Dan Rumney, where graphite was spawning 
git
processes over and over. I had to uninstall and wait for a fix.
You can try a 
ps -ax | grep git
, and run it a few times to see if you're getting git processes spawning over and over.

I re-enabled the plugin and, currently, it's behaving nicely

I found that it takes a while to really get wild. And it seems to be worse for me when I use claude

OK - good to know i don't use AI that much, but I do have Claude installed and bounce architectural ideas off it now and again, so I'll try to keep track of what preceded any issues

This appears to have come about when I did a 
gt co
from the terminal within VSCode
I couldn't say for sure that it wasn't doing this beforehand, but this is when I noticed it

The root cause for these git process spawns will be fixed in 
1.8.0
which we're presently testing internally 👍
