no the vs code extension has its own config that gets checked on submit to determine if

--draft

or

--publish

should be used in the submit call

Oh, interesting! I always assumed it was modifying underlying Graphite settings as well

you can actually see it in

~/.config/graphite/user_config

(same place you set alt profiles)
