How do I give product feedback? I have an idea I want to suggest. But there’s no appropriate channel for that?
e
this confused me too, they just yesterday archived the #C02DRNZELUU channel in favor of another workflow https://graphite-community.slack.com/archives/C02DRNL3HQU/p1703179896017039

Ah yeah, thanks. I guess there’s no way to spitball/brainstorm ideas now
e
I just submitted one and had an immediate afterthought I couldn't tack on, dang

feel free to use #C02MWL10SR0 for that — we're just trying to make clear that we want folks to use the official channels to ensure that we have a single source of truth for the list

happy to spitball with y'all whenever 🙂

@Ella Rohm-Ensing let @Joyce Lu know what your afterthought was! she is the looking through the requests 🙂

My suggestion was around knowing when a review was requested via CODEOWNERS if possible i'd love to know if it was initially requested via codeowners, as you can't rely on whether the lock icon in github is still there/if code ownership still applies, since github will e.g. apply codeowners review on a bad merge/rebase that still linger after you've fixed the diff. But that's mostly asking graphite to deal with github's bad behavior, so it'd be a nice to have lol
Not sure if the reason/trigger for the review request is available in the pr get response to achieve this

@Joyce Lu I wonder if it'd be possible to keep a feature-requests channel here, and have it submit automatically to your internal list with a link to the slack thread. Then you still have a single list, but we retain all the benefits we had with the slack channel. It's really nice to be able to attach images, videos, tack on extra thoughts, and for us to all build on each others' ideas. It's one of the main things IMO that makes this feel more like a community than a tech support slack.

+1 to all of this 🙂

Hi all, thanks for the suggestions here. @Ben Jaffe that’s what we hope to have in the future, but unfortunately that currently requires engineering bandwidth that we don’t have right now 😔 Our goal here was to keep better track of all your feature requests and tabulate them using our existing customer support tooling. Unfortunately, within the old channel, some requests were lost and not appropriately surfaced to our product team for prioritization. Please bear with us while we work on improving and scaling our community support processes! For now, if you want to spitball on ideas, feel free to post in the #C02MWL10SR0 channel. Otherwise, if it’s something that you’d like surfaced directly & tracked by our product team, we super encourage you to use the in app feedback modal. As always we appreciate your ideas and feedback ❤️

Would it be okay to post in random to get thoughts, then to later submit officially with a link to the slack thread? I might do that from time to time since I love the dialogue
Also just out of curiosity, how do you track bugs that we submit via the slack channel? It seems like bugs would have the same tracking problem.

hi everyone thanks for the feedback here!! I've just created an #C06C4TH0D27 channel for discussing product feedback, brainstorming ideas, etc. with the community 🙂 if you have a feature request that you want tracked, please be sure to submit it using the in-app feedback modal, as we won't be monitoring the #C06C4TH0D27 channel as closely!
