In that screenshot, the base git repo is "airbyte" but I have the workspace open to the subdirectory "aibyte-lib".

Scratch that. I actually just needed to follow the instructions.

After running

gt init

at the base of the repo, it asked me to confirm my default branch and then a quick press on the "Refresh" button fixed it in the VS Code UI.
