Is there a way to extract a brach from the middle of a stack and put it onto another stack? Obviously I could do several
us onto
commands but is there an easier way?
j
that is the best way currently
you should be able to do it with only two moves
l
Yeah, more merge conflicts tho 🥲
j
how so? if you have
Copy code
.
.
.
|
C
|
B
|
A D
|/
M
and want to pull B out to D, doing
Copy code
gt checkout C
gt move -o A
gt checkout B
gt move -o D
shouldn't make you resolve any more conflicts than necessary
doing
B
->
D
first would, but as long as you do
C
->
A
first you avoid that
l
Ah moving it down first , yeah that would avoid it. Thanks!

This thread has me thinking a
move --only
flag would be useful, though!

I don't know if this is the same feature request or a new one, but I also often want to move a brance from the middle to the top of the stack. I can do this with
reorder
so long as I have the top branch checked out, but my "intuition" is that I need to just "move it onto the top". It seems like it's the same sequence of operations mentioned here, and it would be nice to be able to do it from that branch instead of from the head branch.
